Day 345 - Isaiah 14:28 - 17 & Proverbs 8

 Julie

These were all oracles about different cities. I found interesting their use of the word oracle...would like to know more about that. These all seem to be God telling the people that their cities are in jeopardy because of their sinfulness and their refusal to follow the commandments of the Lord.

Asking for and receiving the wisdom of God will help us to receive more blessings. "Blessed is the one who listens to me..."

My bible says prophesies so maybe that's what they are meaning.  Like the prophets are telling of things to come?  I got lost in this one again.  While I was reading it I kept thinking about you.  Not sure why that is.  This one verse stood out to me in chapter 16:5, "In love a throne will be established; in faithfulness a man will sit on it - one from the house of David - one who in judging seeks justice and speeds the cause of the righteousness".  I am unsure why this was so prevalent to me.

In this proverb, wisdom seems to be the key to literally everything.  Seeking wisdom and gaining knowledge.  It says wisdom has been around from the beginning and those who do not seek it will find harm and death, but those that seek wisdom and find it find favor from the Lord.
