Day 442 - Ezekiel 38-39 & Psalm 70

 Julie

I didn't really understand this reading today so I was reading the explanations about it and it seems that this one is kind of an unknown to most scholars. They don't know the meaning behind or the significance of the names Gog and Magog. It is speculated that they are just being used to explain what is to come.

This one seems to be asking God to work quickly in saving them.

I recently read an article about forgotten things from the bible and one of them was God from Magog.  It was interesting as it spoke of not hearing anything more about them after this chapter.  What I understand is that Gog was a prince from the land of Magog, or chief prince of Meshek and Tubal, which in this reading sounds like it's from a far-away waterfront land.  It seems only significant in the context that God uses this prince to come against his people and show that he is the Lord in the eyes of all the nations, including God's chosen.

Yes, it sounds like they want God to work quickly, and also to praise God always so that he will save them.
