It sounds like there are still alot of people, alot in leadership, that do not believe Jesus is the son of God, even though he has said plainly that he is and that he came from God. Yet they still ask him to speak plainly and tell them, then he is accused of calling himself a god, or God, I think. It was a little hard to understand, but I think that is what they are saying. At the end it says that John never performed signs, like Jesus is doing, yet people are quick to believe John.
This psalm talks about how the wicked man is prosperous and lies in wait to harm the innocent. It sounds like David is asking God to help those that commit themselves to God.

Some of the confusion for them lies in the fact that John performed baptisms and Jesus did not, so they felt that John was the chosen one. However, Jesus gave others the spirit so that they could baptize people in his name.
He also seems to be questioning why it feels like God is not there or listening in times of trouble. I feel like this psalm shows that even though David had great faith at times he too felt the fear and questioned God's faithfulness.
