The majority of this psalm seems to be positive and singing praise to God, telling people to let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love. It seems he is giving examples of people being redeemed and then toward end it speaks of them being decreased in number, but then starts back about how God lifted the needy out of their affliction. It seems a good example of God redeeming people even after they have turned from him. He is always calling us back to him and forgives us when we do that.
