Day 673 - 2 Timothy 3:10-4 & Psalm 116

 Julie

Paul is finishing his letter and inviting others to join him. He is also reminding them, and us, that believers in Christ will be persecuted, but he has shown how God has helped him each time he was persecuted. He also reminds us that we should share the Word of God with others.

A psalm of thanks and love to the Lord.

Michelle

The part that stood out to me was the beginning of chapter 4.  "Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage - with great patience and careful instruction.  For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine.  Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.  They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.  But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge al the duties of your ministry."  I feel like this is alot of people today.  Everyone wants people to only tell them what they want to hear and not what is right.  Like they need justification for the wrongs they are doing.

This psalm sounds like he is sharing all that God has brought him out of.  It shows us that God is there through all the pain and suffering and we come out through him that loves us.
