The king has favor for Esther and gives her Haman's estate, which she then gives to Mordecai. Also the king gives her freedom to write a decree in the king's name regarding her people. She and Mordecai send out orders to all the regions where the Jews are ranting them the right to assemble, protect themselves, and o destroy, kill and annihilate the armed men of any nationality or province who attacks them or their families. They pick a specific day for the Jews to do this and they ready themselves. At the end of the reading it says that many people of other nationalities became Jews because of fear of the Jews seizing them.
The psalm says to rejoice in the Lord and be glad. Rejoice in the Lord and praise his holy name. Sounds like a song.
