Mean what you say and say what you mean. I think that is the basis behind these verses. Don't speak empty words in the presence of God.
We should dwell in unity with those that are considered out brothers.

I am way behind and catching up a little this morning. I think you got this one right on. I have the don't make promises you can't keep in my head too.
The psalm seems to be a call to live in unity with others and that when we do this everyone thrives.
