This seems to be a continuation of God explaining why they should not be worshipping idols.
This section was titled Words of the Wise. I think that is really what they were trying to do here.

This does sound like more of a reminder to the people of who god is to them. He seems to be explaining why they shouldn’t have idols. The second chapter seems to be warning these cities of their destruction and that if they continue on this path where it leads.
Agreed. It seems more instruction for wisdom and to keep away from angry or hot tempered people as we can fall into their same demeanor.
