Jeremiah tells the people what God has said and they accuse him of false prophesy because he has telling them that the Lord will destroy them for what they have been doing. Because they believe that he is prophesying against them they want to put him to death. He tells them that they are free to do what they want, but that God sent him to them with this prophesy and if they kill him they will be spilling innocent blood.
Trust in the name of the Lord and he will answer you in the day of trouble.

Jeremiah is being threatened by the people and then some of the Elders came to his defense. Jeremiah tells them to do as they see fit and God will determine what happens to them.
This psalm sounds like he is giving blessings on someone or a group of people. He is asking that the Lord bless them with their needs and desires of their heart.
