Jesus is trying to show people that it doesn't matter how big your sins are, if you ask for forgiveness and show humbleness and trust in him that they will be forgiven. Being a holy man or someone that sees themselves as perfect doesn't get them there. He tried explaining this in so many ways, but those that saw themselves as better than others could not see the truth.
We should not isolate ourselves and we should be asking for the wisdom and knowledge of God in making decisions.

I am trying to understand the faith of the Centurion. I don't quite understand how him telling not to come to his house shows his faith. Scratching my head on that one. The remainder is as you say. He seems to be showing people that they need to be humble and trust in him. While I was reading this section, it made me think about the Pharisees and elder leaders were probably questioning why he didn't heal more people or raise more from the dead. It seems he is picking and choosing, but there must be some intention around it and those in power could have used that as a reason for eventually sending him to his death. He didn't bow down to their demands and requests to do more and used those he did help to do greater things.
This one is still talking about words and how our tongue has the power of life and death. There is more to it though, as it speaks about mouths of fools and listening.
