The beginning of this reading stands out. "For though we live in this world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world...we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." I don't know that I think this way all the time. I have done many studies about taking your thoughts captive, yet I continue to have an issue with this. Paul goes on to defend his ministry, although I do not quite understand why this is necessary. He seems to be boasting, which I didn't think was appropriate, yet he is boasting about what he has done and then about his sufferings, like he is explaining himself. I do not understand why he is doing this. I just had a thought that I continue to think that all these people should be conducting themselves according to what they preach, yet they are still just human and are prone to mistakes too. I need to remember that because I find myself being judgey when reading the bible sometimes.
It is only God who judges, we should not be boastful.

Be careful about boasting. There is a time and a place for it.
God will judge with equity and we are again reminded to be careful about boasting.
