Today's reading was just on the firstfruits and tithing, and all I could really see what how to tithe with the firstfruits. Not sure if I missed something...
One verse stood out to me in today's psalm and I think that it resonates with some of what we have been studying in our devotional this week. " He is not tafraid of bad news; his uheart is firm, vtrusting in the LORD." I don't know if you all see what I did in this, but I think that this one has a lot to say about being afraid to the point that we don't listen or trust.

This passage talked of first fruits and tithing, but what I found interesting was the part that talked of giving a portion at a specified time to the Levites, foreigners and the fatherless and widowed. Allowing for them them to be taken care of as has been instructed previously. It was a reminder that we are to help those that need it or that cannot take care of themselves.
That is a good point you make. I think you are right that our fear drives us away from trusting in the Lord with all our heart. It says surely the righteous will never be shaken, which leads to this as well. As long as we are faithful and trust in God.
