Day 309 - Job 36-37 & Psalm 123

 Julie

Elihu spends a lot of time explaining the splendor and glory of God and how he reigns over everything. At least that is what I feel like he was doing. Not that I am complaining, but I feel like that is what the whole them of this reading was.

Have mercy on us Lord and keep us protected from those who have contempt for us.

Yes, these 2 chapters seem to be describing God thru weather.  The way he explains it though really does sound like he is explaining God's glory and how he has his hand in the world.  The devotional with this one talks about the Who and weather phenomenon.  It's interesting really because there is always calm after a storm and that seems to be kind of what this is getting at I think.

The psalm sounds like they are praying to God for mercy from being ridiculed and treated poorly.
