This continues to go on with what is to come to the unrighteous and those straying from God. There is a part that speaks of complacent women and the devotional says they are used as an example in this reading because everyone has found security in everything but God. Only God can bring us security and comfort. We should be turning to God in order to find these things. We rely on so much other things and places, jobs, beauty, houses, people, looking for affirmation and accolades everywhere else but we allow these things to lull us into a false sense of security and any of them can be gone in a second. Only God can provide a secure home, peaceful dwelling place, a fertile field, quiet and comfort, and undisturbed places of rest. We only need remain in God's presence and keep our minds focused not on what things/people we have or things we don't have, but on what God gives us.
These are still instruction for right and wrong. Some that stand out are about gentle answer vs harsh words, the eyes of the Lord are watching everyone, the lips of the wise spread knowledge, a happy heart makes the face cheerful, better a small serving of vegetables with love than a fattened calf with hatred, a hot tempered person stirs conflict, but the patient calms a quarrel, Wisdom's instruction is to fear the Lord, and humility comes before honor.

I like your explanation today. It really encompasses all that we have read in this book.
Another...The Lord is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayers of the righteous. That line really sums up where these proverbs have been taking us.
