Day 353 - Isaiah 34-35 & Proverbs 15.30-33

 Michelle

Today's reading talks about the judgement against all the nations and what that will look like.  It then goes on to talk about the joy of the redeemed, but it starts off talking about the land and not the people.  Only later does it say the blind will have their eyes opened and the lame will leap for joy.  There will be a highway for those that are not wicked and that follow God.  I recall reading or seeing something that talked about how we should mimic nature as it lives as God intended.  Not working against God but moving with God and in accordance with his design.  I realize that we are different from things in nature but if you think about what that means for us as humans it is interesting to think about it that way.  We are constantly working against God and trying to do things our own way, when if we just leave it to him and follow his lead, life would be much more peaceful.

This reading seems to be talking about gaining wisdom through correction and having humility.  It's a short few verses but really makes you think about what you seek.  Is it wisdom and are you open to the correction/instruction give from God?  Again I think we fight against this at times.  But if we are open to heeding God's word and learning from it and gaining wisdom then we are on the right path.

Along with that it also tells us to be strong and not fear because the Lord will come to save us. It is interesting to think that if we took a page out of the animal's book we would live a more peaceful life.

Having fear of the Lord will lead us to that wisdom, but remember to remain humble through it all.
